Everything around us is musical like the throbbing lub-dub of our heartbeats, the pitter-patter of raindrops, the pulsating inhalation and exhalation of air, so forth and so on. Lying down in the dark at 3 a.m. with music as your only companion seems like the best therapy in itself. It creates a sublime space where you live with no worries, no responsibilities but yourself and your thoughts. Music indeed helps you feel warm inside and comfortable with the world around just like a cosy blanket does on a chilly night.

While many prefer silence at night to process their thoughts, some may need music as a gentle reminder that they are not alone or to feel comfortable and relaxed. So, here is a list that includes a list of top seven comfort songs to ensure you have those peaceful moments:

‘Fine’ by Taeyeon

Do you often find yourself in a situation where all that you wish to seek is abound comfort and peace to feel good? Don’t worry, we got you! Here’s an exquisite song that will be a companion in your troubled times. ‘Fine’ by Taeyeon aptly expresses the emotions you go through when a person you care for and love deeply leaves a hollow void inside your chest which just can’t be filled 𑁋you have to pretend it doesn’t exist but when you’re alone even smiling seems difficult. This song very beautifully helps you cope with that pain.

‘Like that’ by Bea Miller

Why you wanna see me bleed?

Why you wanna watch me fall apart?

Try to find the worst in me

But I won’t follow you into the dark

With a quite gripping bridge, this song is an unmissable one. The bittersweet vibe from this song keeps the listener engaged. While it makes you remember all the toxic relationships that kept breaking you until there was nothing left to be further broken, it also helps you heal. This song also got featured in a 2019 film titled ‘After.’ Although the lyrics revolve around the plot of the said movie, you too cannot stop resonating with it.

‘Modern Loneliness (Acoustic)’ by Lauv

From the name, it must be pretty plain what this song entails. This beautiful melody is found relatable by a majority of individuals as its lyrics recount how it feels like to love and care about people but not being able to express your innate emotions or feelings to them.

‘Ishq Bulava’ by Vishal-Shekhar, Sanam Puri and Shipra Goyal

This Bollywood song aptly makes you feel what falling in love means. From the beginning to the end, listening to this serene melody consoles your heart just right.

‘Lost’ by LIM YEON

As stirring as it was to watch ‘The smile has left your eyes’ (from which this beautiful Korean OST is), it was equally emotional to listen to this beautiful masterpiece. This song expresses what love at first sight seems like. From the vocals to the lyrics, this song SCREAMS comfort and peace.

‘Still with you’ by Jungkook

We laugh together, we cry together

These simple feelings were everything I had

When will it be?

If I see you again

I will look into your eyes

And say, ‘I missed you’

Standing in the rain with this pleasant melody on is what many may need. Its lyrics are quite relatable with the pandemic situation going around where everyone has been away from their loved ones and all they yearn for is to see each other again.

‘everythingoes’ by RM and NELL

You know forever isn’t possible in dreams

Instead of unclear words saying to have strength

Instead of the lies that it’s all just the way things are

Just like all these winds

That like the winds it will pass

I pray

With such powerful lyrics, this feel-good song gives a sense of hope amidst all the uncertainty that better days are yet to come and light us up.

So, grab your headphones, switch off the lights and sense the comfort and peace these songs bring to you. Happy listening! :)

Just another person who wants to leave this ordinary, boring world and live within some fantasy written by an author, personally, I would choose the Grishaverse.
