Interviewing a Her Campus Editor, Ashley Marino

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Delaware chapter.

This week, I had the opportunity to interview one of our editors for the Udel chapter of Her Campus. Her name is Ashley Marino and she is actually my roommate! This comes in handy a lot when she can just edit my articles while sitting next to me.

Her Campus: What made you join Her Campus?

Ashley Marino: My best friend is a member and I really wanted an outlet where I could write creatively.

HC: When did you join?

AM: I joined this semester, my Fall Junior year.

HC: Why did you apply to become an editor?

AM: I had experience in editing as an English major and also wanted a role in Her Campus that was more than just writing articles.

HC: What does your job entail?

AM: I receive the articles for the week every Wednesday and edit them by Sunday. I look for AP format, common grammatical errors and I make sure all components for the article are met.

HC: What is your favorite thing about being an editor?

AM: I get to exercise my love for writing in a different way. I love being able to utilize what I’m learning in the classroom in an extracurricular.

HC: How do you spend your free time outside of Her Campus?

AM: I like to hang out with my friends, go out to eat, read and overall just have fun!

HC: Can you give us one of your favorite quotes?

AM: “A feminist is a person who believes in the power of women just as much as they believe in the power of anyone else.” -Zendaya
