While everyone is getting excited to go home for Thanksgiving and have a delicious meal with their family, they overlook the opportunity to have a great experience with their friends. Let’s get real – a friendsgiving won’t be as extravagant as your typical Thanksgiving dinner, but it can be just as much fun! Here are some things to make your dinner easy, affordable, and delicious.

Ditch the Turkey

You didn’t really think I would suggest a college student spend the whole day preparing a turkey, did you? Thankfully, the grocery store has some delicious pre-made rotisserie chickens that can make you think you’re looking at a homemade turkey, but allows you to skip all the work!

Stove top stuffing

Making homemade stuffing is definitely not happening either for a college student. If you’ve never had stove top stuffing, don’t knock it till you try it!

Break out the wine

We’re always looking for an excuse to have a wine night anyway, right? This is the perfect night to break out that bag of Franzia (or your preferred boxed wine), pour it into a fancy glass, and cheers to good friends!

Dessert

Since we’re cutting out most of the actual cooking for this meal, we can dedicate some time to the good stuff – dessert! Whether you want your typical pumpkin pie, or to take it down a notch to some simple cupcakes, baking with your friends could be a fun way to get into the Friendsgiving spirit.
