This Vietnamese sandwich cafe is unlike any Vietnamese restaurant I’ve seen before. I’ve never heard of Banh Mi sandwiches until I discovered it here and now I’m on the hunt for more. The cafe is far down on Main Street but it is definitely worth the walk, even all the way from Laird. It’s definitely a great lunch spot when you just want to relax and enjoy something different.
This is a garlic chicken banh mi. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly surprised after taking my first bite. Inside you will find chicken that is subtly flavored with garlic and topped with pickled vegetables and jalapeno. The ingredients seemed so fresh and it didn’t leave me with that full, guilty feeling that many sandwiches tend to leave behind.
These shrimp and pork summer rolls were perfect in every way. They were so fresh and light, almost as if they were literally summer in a roll. The dipping sauce is a traditional plum sauce and it certainly completed the dish. The rolls were so massive I would suggest having it as a meal or splitting them with a friend. I really enjoyed these especially because they seem to be a great healthy choice and definitely leave you feeling satisfied.
