These couple of months – February, March and on to May really are my favourite months of the year – cause it’s awards show months! We’ve had the BAFTA’s, Oscar’s and will soon have the Met Gala in May. I am a girlie completely obsessed with fashion and even more so formal fashion, so it’s very apt that I’m doing a rundown of my favourite looks from the Oscars. Keep an eye out for the Irish!

Florence Pugh (Valentino)

Miss girl Flo can do no wrong in my book. Queen could show up in a black sack and still make it work. Our girl Flo stunned in a shorts-dress hybrid, with the beige dress portion curtaining open to reveal her black short shorts. It was the perfect balance of dressing up but not overdressed, as shown by the exaggerated sleeves and curtain to the shorts.

Halle Bailey (D&G)

A real life Ariel! This woman did not come to play, telling the world exactly who she is. This Dolce and Gabbana number is exquisite, and she looks like an absolute fairy princess. Or rather, mermaid! The softly structured bodice gives it a modern twist that just finishes it off perfectly.

Cara Delevigne (Ellie Saab)

If you haven’t gathered already I am a huge huge fan of the billowing princess style gown. Naturally I was wowed by Cara’s number. The red is simply iconic, and I love the detailing. The puffy gown featured a one shoulder with a huge rosette, and a nearly indecent slit. Paired with some gorgeous crystal jewellery and platform red heels made it the best statement ever.

Paul Mescal (Gucci)

My man Paul! What a look! Wearing Gucci!! Mr. Mescal brought the style with a white oversized blazer, cute wee black dickybow and black flares. Only my man Paul can get away with all that combined but he managed it flawlessly.

Halle Berry (Tamara Ralph)

Okay I haven’t a flying clue who Tamara Ralph is but I love them!! Halle Berry looked like a bloody goddess here. A simple white gown, with cutouts and a thigh slit is fine, but adding in the gold details really just cemented the look in goddess territory. Her hair was curled slightly to just add to the entire look.

Malala Yousafzai (Ralph Lauren)

In true Malala style, she took the Oscars by storm. Wearing Ralph Lauren, I’m sure no one could take their eyes off her. You could say her gown was very simple, but it shone like no man’s business. The gown itself was modest in it’s coverage, with a shine to outstar only a mirrorball, draping elegantly around her neck and meeting at her waist for that accentuation.

Kerry Condon (Versace)

Irish rep! As well as starring in a beautifully Irish film, Kerry made sure the Oscars knew she has style. Her elegant gown was Versace, with a sweetheart neckline and softly flowing pleats. A gorgeous red lip and cascading blond waves gave an effortlessly glam look.

Hong Chau (Prada)

When I saw this look I was simply blown away. I feel like we can sometimes see the same thing or variations of the same thing, but I loved this. The star wore a simple pink heavy satin gown with a high neck and no sleeves, but the back had a fringed train! It draped elegantly from her lower back, and gave the dress a lil something something.

Phoebe Waller Bridge (Dolce & Gabbana)

I didn’t originally see this dress on the night of the Oscars but it simply had to be here, I love it so much. It looked to be velvet, which is a box ticked from me, obvs, with a sweetheart neckline but with pointy bits. Not only that but it also featured a beautiful lace see-through bodice and flowed so beautifully down past Phoebe’s feet for a sweeping effect when she walked. J’adore!

I have to stop talking and typing now because I could keep talking about these looks all night! I simply love Oscars season! If anyone wants to be annoyed by me talking about red carpet (or champagne, really) looks, I am reachable by an iced caramel latte xx
