Student accommodation, what’s not to love about it? Actually, don’t answer that, but no need to fear as with a little bit of love and attention you’ll have your new room looking like a Pinterest perfect pad in no time!  There are so many quick and simple changes you can make to your room these days that will make you never wanting to leave. So, here are a few tips and tricks to help get you started.

First, Let Me Take a Selfie

That’s right, dig out all those photos of memories past, find a cute photo frame or create a collage and hang them up on your wall. By doing so you’ll be surrounding yourself with familiar faces, making your room that bit more personal as well as adding a pop of colour.

Work that Lighting

Whether it’s a set of fairy lights draped round your bed or the flame of your favourite scented candle, adding these few simple items will instantly warm up your room creating your very own cocoon of cosiness. If you want to splurge a little bit, why not add a Himalayan Salt lamp, as not only do they create a calming atmosphere but are also known to have various health benefits such as improving concentration. Perfect for those late-night study sessions!

Add a Touch of Nature

Bring your room to life by adding some pretty greenery, either by treating yourself to some flowers or even a few new plants. Then again, if you can’t commit to giving them your full attention, and let’s face it, who can with your no doubt hectic college schedule, Penney’s’ sells some pretty convincing faux plants! Pretty reasonable value too and no one will ever know the difference!

There’s No Place like Home

Finally, what better way to make you feel more at home than to take a little piece of home with you. So, take your childhood stuffed animal or even the crochet blanket your granny knitted for you when you were born. It might even be your favourite blanket and pillow from home. Whatever it is, if it makes you feel better and eases the transition of moving, take it!

These are just a few ways of many, on how you can adjust your new student room to make it feel that bit more homely. There are plenty of options out there, so find what really means home to you and with a lite bit of positivity and imagination you’ll be inviting everyone over in no time to see your snazzy new pad.
