The Christmas season has kicked off early this year and Carter beauty has dropped their Christmas collection, just in time to start buying your stocking fillers.
CEO Marissa Carter, owner of Cocoa Brown and Carter Beauty has dropped a Christmas range this year that is easy on the eye and even easier on your pockets
The prices in this collection range from €9.95 to €49.95 and it is perfect for anyone trying to dabble with colour on a budget or somebody who hasn’t had a chance to try the brand and is looking to test their best bits.
The price point is obviously competitive and with so many of us out of work this winter it is the perfect solution for a gorge beauty buy that won’t have you smashing your piggy bank.
There are also notably no tester sizes in this range. Everything is full sized and there is great savings on all of their bundles, in case you’re looking to stock up.
Carter Beauty sent us over their “Ultimate Christmas Bundle,” (RRP €30) which includes their “Eyes Eyes Baby,” gift set and two of their “Merry Lipmas Lip Duo Cracker,” to test out, and I honestly can’t rate them enough.
First, the lipsticks. Inside the crackers (A+ for packaging) you get a lipstick and a lip tint and both the shades in this bundle are perfect to suit any skin tone.
The lipsticks within this range are creamy to the touch and perfectly pigmented for the price with a satin finish. I found that less is more when applying these to the lips and I got a beautiful even payoff when I tapped them in with my ring finger.
Same goes for the lip tints. What I loved about these is that they are pigmented enough on their own and apply like a liquid lipstick, but can also be applied over the lipsticks to changed their finish. The glosses give a gorgeous shiny finish without the stickiness of a normal gloss.
Neither of these products feel dry on the lips either which is a bonus.
Now onto the eyes!
The ‘Eyes Eyes Baby,” set comes with everything you need to complete your eye makeup: an 18-shade eyeshadow palette, gel eyeliner and mascara.
The “Warm Velvet,’ eyeshadow palette consists of warm, rustic reds and shimmering golds, very reminiscent of Anastasia Beverley Hills “Modern Renaissance”.
The shimmers in this palette are the star of this bundle. One swipe over the lid is enough and there is minimal work involved. The palette is packed full of shades that can be worn from day to night so it is perfect for someone that’s ready to try something outside of their comfort zone without straying too much.
The “Supreme Gel Liner,” is unbeatable. It’s perfectly pigmented and super black. It honestly reminds me of the cult classic Inglot 77 gel liner. Its consistency is perfect to apply and comes with a brush which is perfect for traveling. This is probably my favourite product from the collection.
Finally, the “After Dark Mascara” , completes the look (no matter what the “look” is) with full, voluminous lashes. The colour is jet black the formula separates the lashes perfectly with the help of the brush. It doesn’t give the volume I like for night time but it is a perfect day time mascara.
Overall, I can’t fault this collection. Whether it’s your mam, your sister or your cousin, you can consider them ticked off your Christmas list with this collection.
