The Latest Installment In My Hair Saga, Brought to you By TRESemmé

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

I have monster curly hair.  When me and my hair are getting along, we’re great. It’s unique and people like to compliment it and tug on it saying “oooh, it’s so bouncy.” When it’s mad at me, I look like I could be sitting on pride rock telling Simba that one day everything the light touches will be his kingdom. The people who try to say “oooh it’s so bouncy” get their fingers stuck in knots, and if heaven forbid they’re wearing jewelry they’ll have to fight to get it back.

Despite our ups and downs, we do always have a détente at the beach. While everyone else’s gets frizzy, mine soaks up the salt air. So when I see any kind of product advertising beach waves or sea salt or sea foam or anything of the sort I jump at it hoping one day to find that perfect product.

The latest installment in my hair product search ended happily thanks to the hair products in the Her Campus Survival Kit. TRESemmé expert collection Perfectly Undone? Sea Foam Wave Creation Mousse? Sea Salt Spray? YES.

Then we hit a small snag. “Suitable for naturally straight or wavy hair.” Oh no. All my dreams of perfectly bouncy ringlets began to get smashed. No way, my brain says. It’s not going to work.

Have a little hope, my heart says. Plus, you already own it. With that logic I got up extra early soaked my hair copiously in my new products, crossed my fingers and toes, prayed to every deity I could think of, and put extra hair ties on my wrist just in case.

To my surprise and joy, it turned out great.  (See the results below)

For those of you with wavy or straight hair, it’ll work wonderfully for keeping your frizzies under control and giving your waves a little more body. If you’ve got hair like mine, you’ll probably need a little bit more than most others. It’s very light so you need to make sure you use enough to get the weight you need and make sure you get it all the way through your hair or the top will get frizzy. That said I heartily recommend giving it a shot.
