If “The Office” Characters Were Davidson Students

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

Michael Scott is that guy who ALWAYS raises his hand in class to make an unrelated comment. He’s somehow never stressed about his Davidson workload, so he can sometimes annoy those around him in the library, but he makes up for it by being a nice guy.

Jim Halpert is effortlessly one of the most liked people on campus. He is the president of his fraternity and hoping that this leadership role and his standout personality can get him a consulting job in Atlanta or Charlotte, despite his Classics major and limited pragmatic knowledge. But if that doesn’t work out, there’s always sales…

Andy Bernard is also in Greek Life, but more flamboyantly so. You can spot him from a mile away by his frocket and Chubbies Shorts, and he wears rainbow flip-flops all winter. Andy sings in the Generals and somehow always throws up at every Generals/Delilah’s mixer.

Pam Beesly is the sweetheart of Jim’s fraternity and is somehow unsure how she received that honor. He’s been head over heels for her since he met her when taking out a book to help prank his awful roommate while she was at her work-study at the library reference desk. Pam is the presence in her friend group that keeps everyone sane, but she sometimes forgets to take time for herself.

Dwight Schrute somehow manages to fly under the radar as a wildcat. He lived with Jim freshman year, and Jim’s been spontaneously duct taping Dwight to his bed or hanging all his furniture from the ceiling ever since. As a result, Dwight will occasionally try and TP or egg Jim’s fraternity house, but he always manages to get caught by campus police. The last time this happened, Dwight got an additional write up for having three ninja stars on his person.

Ryan Howard travels around campus exclusively with his pack of fraternity brothers, likely to intimidate the girls he didn’t text back out of trying to approach him. After studying abroad in London, he started wearing fake glasses and talking about how much better everything is in Europe, which no one wants to listen to, except for maybe the freshman girls he spends all night hitting on.

Kelly Kapoor goes to the library to online shop and watch Netflix on school computers, because she claims the bigger screen enhances the experience. She is obsessed with her eating house because she feels like it gives her access to Ryan’s frat and has fun sisterhoods, but she hasn’t been to a single house meeting this year, and doesn’t even know what the house’s philanthropy event is.

Angela Martin went to a party once, and the hosts thought about breaking the college’s inclusivity policy by asking her to leave, because she told everyone that they were going to hell with explanations of why. She harbors two cats in her dorm room, and her roommate moved out two and a half weeks into the semester.

Oscar Martinez is that low-key guy that everyone loves but no one really knows. He’d rather go watch live music in Summit than go to F, but feels equally comfortable in either situation, and he has a knack at finding hilarious videos online, which he posts on his Facebook. Everyone suspects him of being Vine famous.

Phyllis Vance is happily cuffed, but that doesn’t keep her from flirting away, all for the thrill of it. Everyone can count on her for advice, but knows that if they cross her, she is not above spilling all their secrets. Come to think of it, she was probably Davidson Makeouts…

Kevin Malone always goes over his Union meal plan allotment and has Dominos on speed dial.

Toby Flenderson works at Nummit, but that still doesn’t make him cool. He went abroad to New Zealand to try and escape from Davidson, only to find out that there were seven other Wildcats on his program, who told everyone that he’s nice and all, but…

Stanley Hudson is the checked out senior, but come to think of it, he’s been checked out since freshman year. He rarely pays attention in class but somehow manages to do just fine since his professors love him. He is in an LDR and would rather FaceTime with his girlfriend than interact with his peers.
