So in approximately three weeks you will hear me whining loudly about how I thought the South was supposed to be warm and I don’t know what this winter nonsense is but I didn’t sign up for this. And then I will get excited and probably start singing Christmas carols, but there will still definitely be whining. Right now, however, the leaves are starting to turn, the weather is starting to cool, and I’m delighting in it for a number of reasons.

1. Fall beverages

Honestly, I’ve never been a PSL kind of girl, but Chai Lattes are my jam. No longer must I wait for a day rainy enough to justify needing a cozy drink. Also, any kind of tea and hot chocolate really. It’s lovely.

2. Cozy clothes

Sweaters, beanies, Ugg boots. Ugh, I love it. Plus, this is the time when we get to show off our cute warm clothes before we cover them over with a million other things.

3. Not. Sweating. Walking. Up. The. Hill.

Or just walking. Or just trying to exist. The heat-humidity combo can be brutal down here, and there are few things worse than arriving to the class that you share with your unicorn drenched and vaguely smelly.

4. It’s getting closer to the holidays.

Cold weather means ’tis almost the season. Preparing my fat pants already.
