Everyone loves a good graphic tee. They’re comfy and soft…and they get boring after a while. It seems like the entire nerd industry thinks its audience is a tall, unisex individual shaped like a box. Somedays, we want to show off our nerdiness and still look stylish.

Here’s 7 ways to subtly show off your nerd:

1. Jewelry

Nerdy jewelry is probably the easiest way to keep things subtle. Most of the time people will just think you’ve got interesting taste, but other nerds, they’ll know. Etsy and Hot Topic are full of nerdy bling, whether you’re looking for a necklace, a charm bracelet or a shiny ring, you’re bound to find it somewhere in there.

2. Tights

Tights are a fun and flashy way to show off your nerd. You can be all business up top, until people hit your legs, then boom, party time. Hot Topic has a great selection of fandom leggings, and Kohl’s has everything from Disney to Marvel to space.

3. Stickers

Everyone loves to decorate things with stickers. Whether it’s your water bottle or your laptop, nothing says nerdy like a well-chosen sticker. Redbubble is full of the strangest and coolest stickers, but if you’re looking for something a little more specific, try Etsy.

4. Bags

If you’re looking to stand out more, but still want to keep your outfit formal, go for a nerdy bag. Hot Topic has a great range ofs backpacks and bags to fit your needs. You can carry your books to class and broadcast your nerd, all at the same time.

5. Hats

Sometimes, you just need a Deathly Hallows hat or a beanie with Pusheen on it. Plus, it’s a good way to keep your head warm in winter, or a fun accessory for fall (when you won’t melt if you’re wearing one piece of clothing too many). Hot Topic’s got a great selection of fun snapbacks and beanies.

6. Scarves

In the winter, bundling up with a nerdy scarf is a good way to keep warm, especially since it’s too cold for a tee. My personal favorite is Etsy store’s book quote scarves. While everyone around you might just think you’ve got a cool patterned scarf, you’ll feel the nerd.

7. Hair bows

Like jewelry, hair bows keep it simple. They’re also the perfect addition to any outfit. Etsy and Hot Topic have a wide variety of hair bows, arranged after your favorite characters from any movie/TV/book show you can imagine.

Go forth and be nerdy~
