5 Sunscreens That Won’t Make You Break Out This Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

I absolutely resent sunscreen to the highest degree – I think it has to do with childhood summers spent with it slathered all over me like mayonnaise, but I’ve learned over the years how truly essential it is to just suck it up and wear it. When trying new brands or formulas, I always worry about whether it will clog my pores or cause my acne to flare up, but through a bit of research, I’ve found several I trust to keep my skin healthy, protected, and clear. So, if you’re suspicious of sunscreens like me, keep reading to discover what brands I actually don’t hate!

1. Age Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 70 ($10.49 at CVS)

This affordable option helps protect against the aging effects of the Sun without feeling heavy on the skin. I use this everyday underneath my makeup, and it never budges or creates a white cast!

2. Sante Labo Ultraviolet Radiation Forecast UV Cream ($17.82 at Rakuten)

With an incredibly thin consistency, this sunscreen will absorb into your skin in just a few seconds! And it’s perfect for sensitive skin, too!

3. Neutrogena Pure & Free Liquid SPF 50 ($12.99 at Ulta)

A super sheer, fragrance and dye-free option that won’t clog pores at all.

4. Dr. Jart + Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 ($39 at Sephora

Combine your base makeup and sun care with this super helpful BB balm. You’re skin will look absolutely divine, trust me.

5. Aveeno Active Naturals Protect + Hydrate for Face SPF 50 ($12.99 at Walgreens)

I can also attest to the power of this one as well – even on the hottest days, this formula never felt sticky or uncomfortable.

Enjoy the sun, collegiettes! And don’t forget the aloe vera gel too!
