Taylor Swift Songs for Every College Mood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Dartmouth chapter.

Moods can change faster than the blink of an eye, especially when you’re in college. We all know it. One minute you’re stressed about that midterm exam, the next you’re in awe as you attend a talk the likes of which you might never again have the opportunity to go to when you graduate, and the next you’re fighting overwhelming fatigue as you finish up that paper. And what better way to describe each mood with one of Taylor’s many versatile songs?

1. When you’re drowning in that notoriously difficult class (looking at you, biochemistry): Dear John

“I ignored when they said run as fast as you can…”

2. On those days when you’re living your best life – like when you wrote that killer essay or landed that dream internship: ME! (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco)

“Can’t spell awesome without ‘ME!’”

3. When you’re feeling homesick and are reminiscing about your last winter break: Back to December

“I go back to December all the time…”

4. And when, because you’re on the quarter system, you have midterms every week, from week 2 to week 9: Teardrops on My Guitar

“He’s the reason for the Teardrops on my Guitar…”

5. After you come back from your study abroad and are a little too obsessed with that foreign guy you met: London Boy

“You know I love my London boy…”

(And you’re secretly hoping it’ll be a love story)

6. When the person living next to you is being super loud the night before your exam: Bad Blood

“Cause baby now we got bad blood…”

7. When you finally graduate and actually miss all of the craziness (probably): The Way I Loved You

“Breaking down and coming undone, it’s a rollercoaster kind of rush, and I never knew I could feel that much. And that’s the way I loved you…”
