Harry Styles has been a mega star in the making for years now. If you were and still are a fan of One Direction then you would already have known who this man is. Being one fifth of a massive boy-band definitely catapulted his career massively. After the band’s hiatus, every member took the chance to have a solo-career. Styles, more than the other boys, has seen massive success in his music career. His song, As It Was, is still in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 after being there for months now. Styles’ third album, Harry’s House, has also been a huge success, earning him six Grammy nominations this year. Personally, I could not be more proud of him! I obviously do not know him personally (even though I may daydream about that); I just am that big of a fan.

Now getting into his filmography: when he began acting, I did not think the day would come where he would be starring in blockbuster movies. At first when I thought of Styles having an acting career, I would have flashbacks to that one iCarly episode starring the One Direction boys where Harry was acting like a sick baby is it most of the time. The first movie that Styles actually appeared in was a war movie called Dunkirk. Now did I watch this movie? Yes, of course. Would I have watched this movie had Harry Styles not been in it? Probably not. This may sound bad, but I would counter this and say that while the appeal of seeing Styles in the movie brought me into the theatre, the story as a whole kept me engaged..

More recently, we saw many appearances for Harry in multiple movies. The smallest cameo was in Eternals, a Marvel movie which – in my opinion – was not the best. The post-credit scene was the part I was waiting for throughout the whole movie. We saw Harry Styles playing Starfox, Thanos’ brother. Personally, all I could see in that scene was Harry Styles and it felt like he was just kind of thrown into the Marvel Universe. But, I am super excited to see where they take his character next.

The next movie that came out this year where Styles had more of a major role in it was the much-anticipated thriller, Don’t Worry Darling. The drama surrounding people in the cast including Harry, Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh was hard to follow at times but so juicy! My favourite incident to come out of it all was the alleged incident of Harry spitting on Chris Pine at the Venice Film festival, which spawned some hilarious memes.  The latest film that starred Styles, however, is my favourite. My Policeman is a masterpiece in my eyes. The emotional roller coaster that I went through watching that movie was intense, as I teared up several times because of the tragic and beautiful storyline. The actors for the characters of Tom, Marion and Patrick were perfectly suited for their roles. The older cast in the 90’s storyline and the younger cast based in the 1950’s balanced each other very well. Styles’ character, Tom, I felt was the most fleshed out and well-rounded character he has played thus far. With this being his most recent movie release, I can already see his progression and am confident he is going to be one of the newest actors to watch out for.
