Last weekend I had the extraordinary opportunity to attend the virtual version of The Rose Reset Retreat hosted by the founders, Mik Zazon and Gabby Male.

The Rose Retreat was created based on this message: Restore, Overcome, Self-love, Empower and it did just that.

This retreat was a little different this year with it being online, but it was just as impactful as the in-person events. This event ran for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am EST- 4:30 pm EST. I was fortunate enough to purchase the VIP ticket and was given an all-inclusive night on Friday to meet Mik and Gabby.

What Was There to Do?

This retreat was held on the website Hopin as well as Zoom. On Hopin, there were pre-recorded workshops that you could attend if you were not interested in the live panel. My two favorites were, Self Care Framework hosted by Meghan Bonhomme and Overcoming Guilt After Eating by Erica Drewry. Each pre-recorded workshop came with a digital document that you could fill in and it showed your own personal goals and what you were needing to overcome.

Aside from the workshops, there was also a shopping section! Vendors from all over the globe shared their shops and gave us our own personal discount codes. It was so amazing to shop handmade and to be gifted with such discounts.

Panelists

The featured panelists were in my opinion, the best part of this retreat. So many women spoke about their own personal stories with feeling insecure or dealing with anxiety and depression in an uplifting way. Here are just a few of the panelists:

  • Amanda Lacount: Amanda is a triple threat, she literally does it all. She danced with Meghan Trainor, performed on The Ellen Show with Keala Settle from “The Greatest Showman”,  America’s Got Talent Season 15, and most recently she can be seen dancing in the Netflix movie, “The Prom”.
  • Ashlee Bennett: Ashlee is an art therapist located in Melbourne, Australia that specializes in helping her clients develop a positive relationship with their bodies through art. Her topics relate to body image, embodiment, and mental health.
  • Achea Redd: This woman was a powerhouse. She is an NBA basketball wife and a mother of two. She is a blogger, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. She opened up about her struggles with anxiety disorder and the need to push for mental health advocacy.
  • Sydney Bell: She is a plus-size model that lit up the room when she spoke. She has been the face of Rue21 plus, Herbivore at Sephora, and many other nationwide campaigns. Her motto is: Live Life Fully.

There were also guided workouts and breathing exercises that helped us get through the long days.

When Can You Attend Next?

If this sounds like something that would benefit you in even the smallest way, you should go! The next retreat is scheduled for October 15th-17th and it is called Dear Body. This retreat will also be completed online and will have anything from body liberation, food freedom, sexual health, and even just frustrations you may have about life.

This is an experience I would recommend everyone have at least once. Speaking with like-minded people who understand what you are going through and will listen to your struggles without judgment or writing you a prescription is so freeing.

You deserve to feel empowered. You deserve to feel beautiful.
