Things to Know Before Traveling to: Walt Disney World

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CWU chapter.

Disney World is one of the most magical places you can travel to in the United States. From Toontown to The Wild Kingdom, there are limitness things to do. Here are a few ways that you can enhanse your experience by taking the advice below.

The Flight:

The flight is going to be about 5 hours long and you may have a layover. If you are traveling during school, bring your homework to do on the plane so you can focus on having a blast in Disney!

Weather is Important:

No matter what time of year you fly down there it is going to be hot/warm. Pack for the weather! Bring your cutest tanks, crop tops, shorts and dresses because no matter where you are, you still have to look good. Don’t forget your favorite pair of sunglasses.

Be Prepared for Chafing:

Ladies, if you’ve got thick thighs like me bring whatever you have to prevent those babies from chafing. Nothing is worse than waddling around Disney World because your thighs hurt. Extra Tip: Pack it in your purse.

Snacks:

Bring your own snacks into the parks! This is a HUGE money saver. Sure, you will want to spend money on the delicious treats, but bringing snacks and water into the park with you will help you wait until you find that extra special treat to splurge on.

FAST PASSES:

Get all the fast passes that you can. Go early to a ride you are dying to go on and get a fast pass. It’ll give you a time to come back and skip the long line to enjoy the ride without the long wait! And who doesn’t love not having to wait in a long line.

The Rain is Your Friend:

If it starts to rain and they momentarily shut a ride down, tough it out! Most people will leave the line and you will be next up in line for that ride/attraction!

Margaritas:

The Margarita store in Downtown Disney pours them pretty strong, so if you are looking to have a day to relax and have a good time, getting a margarita and taking a stroll through the different shops is always fun. Warning: The Margarita’s may hit you pretty hard.

Epcot is the Place for Exotic Beverages:

You can drink around the world at Epcot. If you have always wanted to try different drinks from other countries Epcot is the place to do it! You can travel to japan and try Saki then go to Germany and try craft beer. With all the different countries, you are bound to find something you like!

Pineapple Soft Serve:

Get Dole Whip. Only four places in the country sell this delicious pineapple soft serve and Disney World is one of them. Even if you don’t like pineapple it is worth it. The first time I tried it I thought I would hate it and I fell in love with it.

Ears are Important:

DON’T FORGET YOUR EARS! Whether you have a pair and brought them with or want to buy a pair while you are there, getting a pair of ears is essential to any Disney trip. You can even custom make them at the hat shop.
