This year has been heavy for all of us, and this school year has certainly been like none other, but here you are in the midst of it all, pushing every day, and you should be proud of yourself. After loads of homework, exams, external duties outside of school, and long gloomy days, It’s finally that time of year again, spring. The beautiful sun is out, and what felt like the longest quarter ever is finally over. Here are some ways you can recharge your mind and body over spring break!

Declutter Your Space

Spring cleaning is essential to feel a little more put together. Remember, you deserve to live in a clean environment. Donate things you no longer need and make space for things that make you happy, like plants!

Make Time for Yourself

Try to make time for yourself to recharge after a long busy day. You can do this by going on a walk, drive, taking a long bubble bath, going on a hike, or simply doing nothing. It’s time to distress from school.

Set Your Intentions

It’s never too late to set new intentions and to feel happy. Whatever goal you are working on, the time is NOW to achieve it. You can do anything you set your mind to. Journaling is a good way to start; set your intentions and affirmations. I usually start my morning journaling in a guided journal that prompts how to love myself and let go of all worries. I recommend going online and finding one that resonates with your goals.

Create a New Schedule

Creating a new schedule for new upcoming routines such as work and school is a form of self-care that will prevent you from being stressed. Use this time to plan out ahead if you can.

Take It Easy

You are doing amazing, so don’t be too hard on yourself. As someone who is always doing things last minute, I will take spring break time to destress and have my life be put together as everything has felt so stressful. I have recently found little time for myself, but now that we have spring break, I will do what I can to do things the future me will be thankful for. I hope you do, too, because self-love means prioritizing your needs and wants. Have a fantastic spring break!
