James Charles has once again been dropped into the drama teapot after some serious allegations began circling around social media. So grab a cup, some snacks, and let’s start spilling.
This is not the first time we are hearing James Charles being entangled in a mess like this. There have been numerous people that have gone onto social media and claimed that James had been messaging them, and they were all underage. James publicly stated that he didn’t know they were underage. The first time the public found out about this, there was more of a lean towards James not knowing the age. There have been countless stories of people looking older than they actually are and some even worse stories of people lying about their age. The first time this happened to James, I didn’t exactly let it slide, but I figured he messed up and would learn from his lesson.
Obviously not.
This is a very serious situation and it has happened to James numerous times. It makes you wonder why James isn’t asking for their age in the beginning, checking Instagram bios, or even their ID. 18 is legal, but it is one of the most basic ages to fake. I mean, James is known for controversy especially when it comes to this kind of situation. It is shocking to me that after all the Tati drama and the Jeffree Star drama he is still making these poor choices.
Going back to the boy that released the Tik Tok, he said that James Charles was talking with him on Snapchat and was sending him photos and also asking him for photos. The boy claimed that he was taking images on his Ipad and his phone of those Snapchats James was sending him for proof that it was actually James Charles. To me, this would have been a no-brainer. James is a well-known celebrity/influencer and if he didn’t think fans would screenshot his images and post them on Twitter or any other social media platform or with their friends, he has lost his mind. I mean any celebrity has to know that not everyone is kind and not everyone can keep it a secret. Especially when it has to do with pictures no one has seen before. It would definitely suck feeling like you are trapped in this bubble where you feel like you can’t trust anyone but, in that kind of industry, it’s just how it works. You should assume the worst when it comes to people because there are so many people out there that want to watch your downfall. The fact that James doesn’t think of that, blows my mind.
Along with the person talking about the relationship with James, they actually showed evidence of the messages. There were of course some spicy things I will not bring up, but the weirdest part was James was telling the boy how to pose.. *insert cringe emoji* This boy was also not a total stranger to the James Charles phenomenon, he was actually a fan that was following him and that is how they began talking.
James Charles Twitter Statement:
After the video on Tik Tok had reached millions of views, James took it upon himself to write a Twitter message. Here are a few pieces:
“There’s a video going around about me on TikTok and Twitter of a guy calling me a groomer and I want to address it right away. The accusation that I have groomed this person is completely false. Last week, I came across someone on my Instagram explore page, saw he followed me, and added him on Snapchat. The next morning, I woke up to several snaps from this person being excited I added him back, saying he loved me, and also lewd photos of himself in the shower. I asked how old he was right away and he told me he was 18 so I started flirting back.” This is where James messed up. He needed to VERIFY HIS AGE. He noted in his post that he did not ask for any identification. SMH.
James continues in his Twitter rant that once he saw the video it became clear that the boy was taking images on his Ipad and other devices of their conversations for some kind of ulterior motive. Now, regardless of if he had an ulterior motive or not, he is underage, 16 in fact, and you are an adult and also a celebrity. To me, this entire Twitter rant was a plea for forgiveness and a “poor me” speech. If this were the first time a situation like this had occurred to James, I would feel for him. But, it’s not. This is one of many and after a while, my sympathy pot runs dry and I toss you out like the dry tea bag you are.
The moral of this long rant, James Charles is one of many problematic influencers who think their shi* doesn’t stink. If there was any advice I could give to him, stop messaging people back. If you do, just know it’s going to get out. Also, maybe download Grindr or Raya which is used by many celebrities, and find someone who is your age and won’t expose your relationship. (They still may, but you can hope.)
