With the holidays already upon us, most college students are in a pinch of what to get loved ones on a budget. When it comes to your BFF, you want to be more thoughtful than just a gift card or a mug, so make them a stocking stuffed with spa day essentials to help unwind and take a break after an awful fall quarter. Here are some of Her Campus CWU’s favorite essentials to a perfect spa stocking kit:
Anything from the checkout line from Sephora:
Raid your bestie’s vanity and find out what her favorite beauty brands are and head to Sephora’s checkout line and grab a couple deluxe sized samples of masks or perfumes to pamper herself. This gives your bestie the chance to try new items without having to pay full price! They have everything; face masks, hair masks, even lip masks (because apparently that’s a thing?)
Fuzzy socks:
College students get more excited for new socks than most other gifts. Stores like Target, Fred Meyer, and even Amazon sell fuzzy socks that are not only cute, but they are essential in braving the Ellensburg winters that can be harsh. Bath and Body Works even have shea butter-infused socks that are perfect post pedicure!
Lotion:
Not to be repetitive, but Ellensburg winters are cold and dry. The first thing that signifies winter is coming is that hands start to get so dry, so stock your friend up with hand lotions that we’re sure they’ll use throughout winter quarter. Our favorite is the Being Salted Caramel and Macadamia scent because it’s affordable and smells warm and like a holiday dessert. YUM.
Candles:
A true at-home spa day isn’t complete without at least 3 candles acting as aromatherapy to really set the relaxation mood. Christmas candles are the best because they are cozy and warm, but any type of candle is the perfect addition to any gift.
Bath Bombs:
Bath bombs are available everywhere because of the obsession that Lush started. You can even make homemade bath bombs to give out to your friends with Epsom salt, coconut oil, baking soda, essential oils, and citric acid! They not only make a bath ten times more luxurious and fancy, but they also make for a *bomb* Instagram picture.
