As a Film Major, people are always coming to me for movie and TV recommendations.
On an almost-daily basis, I have to comb through all the streaming services in my head to remember what platforms my favorite TV shows are on and I continuously find myself going back to HBO Max.
Unfortunately for us HBO Max lovers, some bad news struck last month regarding the streaming services’ longevity. According to Alex Cranz, “HBO Max isn’t dead…yet. But come the summer of 2023 it will be, and there will be a new service replacing both HBO Max and Discovery Plus, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav said on an earnings call today.”
In light of this soul-crushing news for TV enthusiasts like myself, here are my top 10 show recommendations that I strongly believe you NEED to watch before the streaming service is unavailable.

- Chernobyl
- Euphoria
- Succession
- The White Lotus
- Abbott Elementary
- Westworld
- Cartoon Network (Regular Show, Adventure Time, etc.)
- The Sopranos
- Barry
I hope you’ve seen at least ONE of these shows I mentioned above, but if not, you’ve got until next summer to scratch them all off your Watch Later list.
