The 5 Best Places to Celebrate Your 21st in DC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CUA chapter.

If you’re turning 21, you’ve come to the right city.  Whether you want to make a huge production out of it, or just go out with some of your closest pals, you can’t go wrong with a night out in The District.

LOCAL 16:

Stop by your favorite street and mine, U street, to enjoy some day drinking. On weekends, they have Bottomless brunch all for around $30. For two hours at your table you get one meal and all you can drink with both indoor and rooftop seating options. Get your drink on here and then go explore the city with some liquid courage.

BRASS MONKEY:

Who doesn’t want to turn 21 in Adams Morgan?! This hidden gem of DC would be a great place to ring in your 21st. It is a three-story bar, with more than enough room to accommodate large groups. My favorite part of this bar is definitely the third level because it is half inside and half outside. If you want to get away from the loud noise, step outside for a while and perhaps check some things off of that checklist you know your friends will make you!

SHADOW ROOM:

If a bar isn’t really your scene, Shadow Room is one of the best night clubs in the city on K street. Get a table with your friends (a bit pricey but hey, it’s your birthday, your friends can take care of this tab) and get bottles on bottles of champagne to celebrate your big night right.

MAD HATTER:

This crazy Alice in Wonderland themed bar is one of the top college bars around in the heart of DuPont Circle. They have great draft deals, a dance floor for you dancers, and high tables and booths for those who like the bar feel.

THE TOMB:

And last but not least, there is this awesome Georgetown bar. If you like the Greek life feel at bars, then this preppy bar has your name written all over it. It has made numerous top bar lists from around the country, and it is hard to go wrong here with attractive people bumping into you at every turn.
