Well CU We’ve Done It Again

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Well CU we’ve done it again; making headlines across the country for none other than an incident regarding Marijuana.

Two CU Boulder students have been charged with eighteen felony counts for lacing brownies brought to their Food Day in their Early Modern Society class with THC- the main ingredient in marijuana. Thomas Ricardo Cunningham, and Mary Essa, two students, were being held at $5,000 bail and are now being charged with eighteen identical counts. Eight counts of second-degree assault and eight counts of inducing consumption of a controlled substance, one for each victim. As well as one count each of conspiracy to commit second-degree assault and conspiracy to induce consumption of a controlled substance because they allegedly worked together.

The two students are suspended from University of Colorado Boulder, and both face two to six years for each second-dress assault charge, and one to three years for each count of inducing consumption of a controlled substance.

So that’s that, next time you have “Bring food to class day” try to leave out your extra special ingredients. No one involved was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this situation.
