Valentine’s Day- arguably the most romantic day of the year- a day to spend with your significant other. But, when you’re in a long-distance relationship, that is pretty much impossible. Well, the good news is that you can still make Valentine’s Day special, even if you and your partner are miles and miles apart. Here are some ways to make that happen.

Send a gift.

I love giving gifts. I’m not kidding, I think I have my gifts planned out for people about six months in advance. Luckily, there are so many delivery services these days that getting a gift across the country shouldn’t be a problem. Send your partner flowers, or a box of chocolates, or whatever it is your (or their) heart desires. If you want to add a more personal touch, write a letter. Handwritten letters are so special and are guaranteed to put a smile on your significant other’s face.

Have a movie night.

It’s so convenient that there are various streaming services out there that allow for a collaborative movie night. You can do this in a few different ways, one being the Teleparty extension on Chrome, which works with Netflix, DisneyPlus, Hulu, and HBO. Alternatively, you can Zoom with your significant other and screen share so that you can talk to and see each other while the movie is playing.

Have a virtual dinner date.

I love this idea so much, I might have to convince my boyfriend to do it with me. Order the other person’s favorite food for them and FaceTime, and it’ll feel *almost* like you’re actually eating together. This helps add a nice touch of formality to your date and you get to eat good food, what’s not to like?

I hope you all have a fantastic Valentine’s Day! And to those of you in long-distance relationships, I feel for you, and I hope this Valentine’s Day the distance feels a little smaller.
