The weather is getting warmer and spring break is approaching, which means it’s time to show a little skin. Whether you’re already tatted up or looking to start your collection soon, here are six unique tattoos that will add some artistry to your beach look!

Starting small

If you’re looking to start your tattoo collection small, or you want to add a mini piece to your existing collection, this tiny rainbow tat is an adorable reminder that “the sun will come out tomorrow.” This tattoo would look great behind the ear, on your wrist, or by your hip bone. No matter where you place it, you’ll forever have a special reminder that nothing bad lasts forever.

Nothin’ wrong with a little underboob

Underboob tattoos are SO hot right now and are the cutest detail to peek out underneath your bikini top. But if you’re looking to move away from the mainstream, state flowers are a good way to mix up your look. Find out what your state flower is and ask the tattoo artist to incorporate it into your design.

Remember where you come from

Hometowns are what shape you into the person you are today. Personally, as a military brat, I’ve had about fifteen hometowns. But whether you grew up in one place or twenty throughout your whole life, home location is important. Ink yourself with something meaningful by asking your tattoo artist for a list of coordinates of your childhood home. I’d recommend getting this along your ribs, spine or wrist, but the meaning will hold true no matter what placement you choose!

Not your average rose

We’ve all seen the rose tattoos that are trending right now, but I bet you haven’t seen them like this. This rose progression tattoo puts a beautiful twist on the original design that we all know and love. It represents growth, beauty and anything else you want to associate it with. Better yet, put a spin on this design and ask your tattoo artist to turn the stem into cursive words. I’ve been wanting to get this tat on my ribs for years, but put it wherever you like best!

You are art

I’m a big fan of the artist Gustav Klimt, so when I came across this outline of his famous painting “The Kiss,” I started searching tattoo parlors immediately. The outline format of this ink gives it a sophisticated and romantic feel. If you have a work of art you are passionate about, take it to an experienced tattoo artist to see what they can do!

Garden sleeve

Definitely the most bold tattoo option, a full sleeve or a half sleeve is for those who want the world to see their art. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the forearm half sleeve, and these flowers are a perfect combination of delicate and edgy. Pick an arrangement that works for you, and don’t skip on the detail!

No matter what look you go with, make sure it’s something you will love forever. Enjoy mixing it up this break with your new ink!
