It’s that time of year again. Fall is here… and that means it’s time to dig those warmer cloths out of the deep depths of your closet. But, if you’re anything like me and struggle finding cute clothes to rock in the cool weather, you understand my dread. Long sleeve t-shirts, leggings, and those basic brown boots will only get you so far. Here is a list of the top fashion trends that will get you looking like you’ve got your life together without too much fuss.

1. Chord Mini Skirts:Sure, your mom might fun of you for wearing these and reference “that 70s show” …but what does she know? The trend is making a comeback! They’re fun and and pretty cute if paired with the right top. Too hot for summer and too cool for winter, Fall is the perfect time to show off some leg while trying out this trend.

2.  Brightly Colored Sweaters:

Bright sweaters are a great way to make your bland wardrobe “pop” without being too tacky. Paired with black jeans or dark denim, this is a great look! For brunettes, try a bright yellow or light purple. If you’re blonde, a light blue or bright pink would be a good choice.

3. Button-Ups:

Not sure what to wear for that midterm presentation? A classy button up is a perfect fit for the situation. On a rainy day, they pair well with soft vest and classic boots. If it’s sunny out, you can simply roll up the sleeves and soak in the sunshine.

4. Form fitting T-shirt Dresses:

T-shirt dresses are fantastic because they’re so versatile. You can go from “beach bum to sorority chapter” ready in just a few minutes. They are also ideal because they’re so easy to accessorize. They look good no matter what shoes you want to pair them with. They work with wedges, heels, converse, or even rain boots.

5. Fall Floral:

Fall floral can bring life into an otherwise boring outfit. There is nothing wrong with a fun pattern to lighten up the mood! In small doses it’s classy and feminine. Unlike summer floral, fall florals are special because they capture everything we love about autumn including campfire reds and pumpkin patch orange.

6. Dark Denim:

This is a classic, no other context needed. This is the basic in your life that you can always fall back on. Not sure what to pair that cute shirt with? Definitely your favorite jeans.

7.  Soft flannels:

These can be your go-to when you’re in that cozy fall mood. With all the patterns and colors, the opportunities are unlimited.
