This year Halloween did not go as planned for everyone due to COVID, but there are still fun ways to keep everyone excited about the holiday season through some festival movies.

“Coraline.”

This movie is always on my bucket list to watch every year. Each year since this movie has come out I have always watched it. The movie still creeps me out as an adult the second other mother becomes someone Coraline does not expect.

“Halloween.”

Each year you have to watch something scary, and Micheal Myers will always be a staple Halloween character that everyone jumps to. Being stuck inside due to COVID during October is not necessarily exciting, but it can be a way for you and your friends to make a movie night out of the series. I know that it can be controversial as to which one is the best, so take this time to have fun with a group of friends to talk about it, and binge-watch the whole series.

“Nightmare Before Christmas.”

I know everyone has seen this movie before, but this movie is always going to be iconic in the books. It is a movie where you just want to get a big throw blanket, light a candle, and rewatch it every year.

“Twitches.”

Of course, you have to watch the Disney classic movies to relive your childhood. There is just something about Disney movies in the ’90s and early 2000s that is a game-changer, and if this movie does not remind you of your childhood, I don’t know what will.

“Halloween Town.”

Marnie will forever be the kid that we all wanted to be growing up and seeing Halloween Town is going to bring out that side of you that you may have just forgotten about.

“Nightmare on Elms Street.”

This movie will forever creep me out due to how psychologically nervous it can make you after watching it. No matter how many times I see this movie I am still nervous to fall asleep that night.

“Beetlejuice.”

This movie will forever be a classic, and it’s honestly a funny movie that I have always enjoyed watching. Just make sure not to say Beetlejuice three times when he’s around.

“Hocus Pocus.”

This movie has such a great storyline, and if it doesn’t make you want to go to Salem, I’m not sure what will. These sisters are the Olson twins of Halloween.

“Child’s Play.”

The movie that made us all hate creepy dolls. Chucky will forever be the toy doll that makes everyone wonder whether you would be able to run from him or not. This movie has always been a staple for me, and the whole series.

“Edward Scissorhands.”

This movie may make you a little sad by the end of it, but it will always have a great plot. Also, it allows reminiscing on the days where Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were still together. This movie still somehow gives you Halloween vibes while also being romantic.

This Halloween did not go as expected for anyone, but it is important to remember that we need to social distance this year. So what better way to stay excited about the festive season in a safe way than to watch your favorite Halloween movies!
