We all know what time it is. We are quickly approaching the beginning of March which means it is time for midterms once again. If you are wondering how you can possibly make it through midterms because you are only thinking of Spring Break, these quick tips will help you be successful in every class. That way, you can start soaking up the sun even sooner.

      1. Prioritize your classes

When getting ready to study for all you classes, it can be quite overwhelming, especially if you have many exams all at once. This can leave you feeling like you don’t know where to begin your studying. The best thing you can do in this situation is to prioritize your classes. Take about 15 minutes one day and decide which class is your hardest and what you need to study the most for. Once you have this figured out, you can divide your time between these classes appropriately, giving the most time to the hardest class.

       2. Take a Study Break

Many people believe that in order to be successful, you must study for hours upon hours. In reality, you should allow yourself to take breaks. Giving yourself a break not only let’s you do something fun, but it allows your brain to fully absorb the material you studied instead of packing as much info in as you can at once. Try taking a walk outside, having a healthy snack with water, or doing something fun with your friends. These all give your brain a break and you can go back to studying refreshed, making it easier to concentrate.

      3. Put Down Your Phone

In today’s society, we practically have our eyes glued to our phone screen. We are constantly checking texts messages and social media. To get the most out of your study session, give yourself a break from your phone. If you put all of your focus into studying you will remember more at a quicker pace. It is definitely hard to stay off of our phones, so making a pattern might be beneficial. For example, if you study for an hour, then you get a 30 minute break on your phone.

      4. Do NOT Cram

One of the worst things you can do when trying to Ace your midterms is cramming the night before. Cramming as much information in the night before your exam will only make you even more mentally exhausted, so you won’t be able to concentrate as well during the exam. The chances are you probably won’t even remember half of what you studied while cramming, so give yourself the benefit of the doubt and study a little each day or every other day.

      5. Treat Yourself

It’s easy to get distracted when studying; daydreaming about the sun and your plans for Spring Break are way more fun. You might even question if it’s worth studying and if you should just try and wing it. Well, you should probably not wing it. Do your best to power through these distractions and get your studying overASAP. To motivate you to get things done, treat yourself after midterms. This will give you something to look forward to, so plan a girls night out or a spa day for the weekend after midterms. This will surely help you get work done knowing that you have something exciting to look forward to.

With Spring Break coming up fast we all just want to forget about our midterms and magically get an A. Staying focused by using these last few tips will help make midterms more bearable so you can enjoy your Spring Break sooner. Cabo is waiting, Buffs! XO
