“Bridgerton” is a period show that is based on the best-selling books of the same name. Each season revolves around one of the siblings of the well-respected Bridgerton family. The show takes place in England in the 1800s and has become incredibly popular since the first season came out over a year ago. The newest season came out this past week, and gave all the fans a new binge-worthy storyline. Looking at both the new and old seasons, there are many amazing episodes, but here are some of the best:

SPOILER WARNING

  1. Season One, Episode Six: “Swish”

“Swish” is by far the spiciest episode of the entire series, and that is only part of the reason why it is number one on this list. Not only do we get to see Daphne and Simon get closer in their relationship, but we also get to listen to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” in a beautiful acoustic variation. This episode centers on the main characters’ honeymoon as well as having the side plot of Colin making decisions in regards to his relationship with Marina. It’s a jam-packed episode, but that one certain sexy montage really puts it over the edge.

  1. Season Two, Episode Eight: “The Viscount Who Loved Me”

This season two finale was one for the books. It showed off the enemies to lovers, Kate and Anthony, finally getting together after a season of turmoil. The season revolves around the two meeting and trying to deny their attraction. Anthony almost marries Kate’s sister Edwina, but in the end, the two end up together. This episode is so special because it shows how far the couple has come throughout the season as well as showing a flashforward to how healthy their relationship is a year after the events of the season.

  1. Season Two, Episode One: “Capital R Rake”

The start of season two was truly a defining moment as it set the tone of what the season would be like. The sequence of Anthony going on dates with potential matches was so entertaining because he continually refuses to acknowledge that he wants love, not just an essentially arranged marriage. Penelope also has a large role in this episode as we get to see her struggle of being the infamous Lady Whitledown. This episode is number three as it shows the true process behind the gossip column as well as setting up the lovers for the season.

  1. Season One, Episode Three: “Art of the Swoon”

The fourth episode on this list is a big turning point of season one. Daphne catches the eye of a prince and she at first does not know how to keep him interested, so she looks to Simon for help. The two start to become more friends than enemies which we get to see later turn into lovers throughout the season. This episode shows a new side of Simon, a jealous side, that has not been seen prior to this episode. It is incredibly engaging and Daphne’s outfits are stellar this episode.

  1. Season One, Episode Eight: “After the Rain”

This season one finale was the best way possible to round out the first season of the show. “After the Rain” shows the reconciliation of Simon and Daphne after Daphne realizes that Simon actually can have kids but was just choosing not to. She is initially very hurt by this, but she comes to realize that it is out of fear, not a lack of love for children. The two make up in the episode while at a party dancing in the rain. The sequence is incredibly beautiful and can make anyone want to frolic in the rain. The episode also ends with Daphne having a child of her own, which perfectly rounds out the season.

Be sure to watch seasons one and two of “Bridgerton” on Netflix if you haven’t already!
