As much as I hate to admit it, I am very much a creature of habit. Once I find something I like, it’s difficult to let go. Things such as food, TV, and music tend to stick around for the long run. Of course I branch out every now and then, but what’s wrong with a little comfort in life? Without further ado, here is a list of constants in my life…

Television: Gilmore Girls

Wow, how predictable! I know this one is a bit basic, but Gilmore Girls is something to have on in the background while I’m getting ready because I do not have to pay much attention to it. Ever since I watched this show for the first time in my junior year of high school, I have not been able to let it go. I have watched Gilmore Girls (every episode) three times. It’s definitely not the most interesting TV series I’ve watched, but it does not require me to pay too close attention to the plot. I do watch new TV shows, but I will always come back to my old faithful.

Honorable mentions: iCarly, Victorious, The Office, and The Big Bang Theory.

Music: Madison Beer

Don’t know what to listen to in the car? Madison Beer. Will one of her songs show up in my playlists? Yes. I am a die-hard Madison Beer fan and have been since I was 18. Her albums and EPs each have a different sound, so it’s easy to find something for every mood that I’m in. I would not be surprised if I listened to at least one Madison Beer song a day. Luckily I am not the type of person to get sick of an artist after listening to them too much (as you can probably tell by the theme of this article). Her music is not a phase, it’s here to stay.

Honorable mentions: Gracie Abrams, Lana Del Rey, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Drinks: Iced Vanilla Chai Latte

Yet another basic item to add to the list, but who cares? I did not start drinking chai regularly until the beginning of my junior year of college, but I don’t think I can go a day without one. The addiction became so prevalent that I have now become an expert at making iced vanilla chai lattes at home. The taste of the cinnamon and vanilla never fails to put a smile on my face after the first sip. Call me unoriginal but I am unashamed of my constant yearning for a chai!

Honorable mentions: iced peach black tea lemonade, a Shirley Temple, and orange juice.

Chobani Greek Yogurt

Breakfast: a bowl of Joe’s Os and a side of Greek yogurt

Every. Single. Day. I am far from tired of the same bowl of cereal and a cup of yogurt (which usually varies) because I know it fills me up until lunch and I enjoy the taste. My Greek yogurt of choice is usually the nonfat mango or strawberry from Trader Joe’s and it never fails to keep me full for a longer period of time. Cereal and yogurt must be eaten together. One without the other would make me feel empty in both my heart and my stomach.

I accept that I am a creature of habit. If I like something, why should I be pressed to give it up? I encourage everyone to embrace their favorite things in life and not let them go! Having a sense of comfort and familiarity is not always a bad thing.
