As Boulder “Lokals” we all want to feel like true locals, we want to know the hot spots, the do’s and don’t of Boulder, and that favorite Friday happy hour. Graduating Senior Mark Shenfield makes this a little easier with the newly launched website, Lokalite. Lokalite is your own personal event planner, a go to when looking for something that’s outside of your everyday norm. Boulder houses so many great events, everyday there is something to be doing whether it’s wandering the recent Andy Warhol exhibit or grabbing some drinks at Lazy Dog’s weekly trivia night. Lokalite’s got our back, providing the essentials like where to get $1 PBR when money’s running tight, or informing us of a great deal to grab a glass of wine when we’re feeling classy. Lokalite’s got it all, it highlights everything from campus events to Open Mic Night’s on Pearl so this is a one stop shop when we’re wanting to add a little excitement to our daily plans. “It’s all about learning a little, living a little, and experiencing a lot. We created Lokalite because we are passionate about sharing experiences and increasing the awareness of how great one’s community truly is.”

Future plans?
- Continue to live the entrepreneurial lifestyle. I love seeing ideas come to life, and there’s nothing better than seeing your own ideas come to fruition. Boulder’s a great place to live and work, and for the foreseeable future, I plan on being based out of here as we further develop lokalite and take it to new cities around the country.
What you hope to accomplish with lokalite?
- I hope that one day everyone will feel like a lokal wherever they are. There are so many events happening in every community nationally and internationally, and the ability to browse, find, and attend events in your own city as well as cities you are visiting, quickly and easily, is something I want to bring to life. There are so many lost opportunities due to a lack of knowledge and scattered event information… and it’s time for a solution. Also, something we plan to accomplish with our mobile app, is to easily find events thats are currently happening around you. If you could walk downtown, pull up an app, and it’ll tell you what’s currently going on near you… that’d be awesome!
