Making Halloween Easy

Now that Halloween is around the corner, I am sure I am not the only person who is scrambling to put together a costume at the last minute. As someone who loves dressing up for Halloween but hates the price tag of a majority of costumes, I am always looking for something simple that I can throw together at the last minute and still look cute. I have compiled a list of costumes that are quick, easy, and most importantly affordable for college students.

1. Freaky Friday

This costume is one I did with my best friend several years ago, and it was so much fun! The entire idea of this costume is to dress up like your friend, partner, or anyone, and they dress up as you! This one is so easy and inexpensive because you can basically go shopping in your friend’s closet for it! Note that it is important to wear name tags so everyone knows what your costume and your friend’s costume are.

2. The Lorax

Personally, this is one of my favorites on this list. I think it is such an easy and funny costume that requires almost no effort. Not to mention, the Lorax is an absolute icon that everyone will immediately understand. All you have to do for this one is wear an orange bodysuit and rock a fake yellow mustache. I have been wanting to do this one for years, and I still have not had the opportunity to, but I eventually will.

3. Wednesday Addams

Dressing up as Wednesday Addams is always such a cute costume that I see almost every year. Most people already have a black dress, stockings, and dark shoes in their closet; all you have to do is put it all together and put your hair in pigtail braids. This one is so simple to put together, and it is a more comfortable option if you live in a colder climate, as I do.

4. Audrey Hepburn

Similar to the Wednesday Addams costume, this is a very low-maintenance costume. All this costume really requires is wearing a little black dress, which is a closet staple of mine, and some fake pearls that you can buy at any costume shop or online store! This is for the girls who prefer a cuter, classic Halloween look but still want to participate in dressing up. It is also an excuse to put your hair up in a high bun!

5. A sexy ghost

This costume is so funny to me, and I have to see someone do it this year. All that is required is a white sheet, which you can get from pretty much anywhere, and fishnets to complete the look! This is also a super unique costume that I haven’t really seen before, so someone should definitely try this one!

6. Kim Possible

In honor of one of my favorite childhood shows, this list cannot be complete without a Kim Possible costume. For this one, all that is required is some cute, comfy cargo pants and a baby tee. Both of these are easy to thrift if you do not already own these items. If you are feeling like going all in, you can either purchase a cheap wig or use temporary dye to get her hair color correct

As someone who is typically figuring things, such as costumes, out at the last minute, I figured this would be useful for my fellow type B girls. This is just a short list of costumes that I think would be so, so cute for anyone to wear this Halloween! Remember to stay safe, look out for your friends, and have a great time!
