How To: Bounce Back from Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Whether you spent your spring break backpacking around Europe or soaking up that Miami sun at Ultra or just visiting family, every girl needs to come back to reality and focus on what we all have in common, school. Trade in that Maui Babe for some aloe, rest up before class, and get a little ‘spring’ back in your step!

After break, it’s difficult to keep up that momentum to finish out the semester strong, but there are some solutions to getting you back on track and snap you out of vacation-mode. Spring should be a time of renewal and rejuvenation; here are some ideas to freshen up your life.

They call it Spring Cleaning for a reason! Sort through your clothes, purge those old sweaters, and get rid of the clutter that is weighing you down. This will renew your wardrobe and make space for something new. You can even take some old clothes to Buffalo Exchange and get some cash for your trash, especially as the season changes. With some extra money, you can buy new clothes that are fresh off the rack or even give yourself a whole new look.

Vacation-mode is a hard one to let go of. No one wants to switch back to school mode; we are ready for summer! So, spring forward! Start applying for internships or summer jobs. Some great internship sites are Intern Queen Inc.  and Ed2010™. Looking forward to something will keep you excited and motivated. The motivation will transfer over to your school work and keep up that studying momentum. Future goals will keep you productive and even make the time go by faster!

Once you rejuvenate your space and school-momentum, make some time for yourself. Go to the salon. Try salons with student discounts, like Finishing Touches Salon, so you feel even better about your little luxuries. Get a haircut and cut off all those dead ends for healthier, fresher hair. We know you chipped those pretty painted toes cliff diving in Costa Rica, so get a pedicure and relax. Most importantly, go to bed at a reasonable hour so you can catch up on all that sleep you did not get staying out all night at the hottest London clubs. Lastly, use all of this new energy to power through the rest of the semester!
