A Guide to Being Single and Happy in 2018!

As the new year begins I decided to put together this guide to being single and happy in 2018 as a way to not only give myself a guide but to help y’all out as well. I think at times we get into the mindset that being single sucks and it’s so hard. So as I move into 2018 one of my goals is to work on my happiness and my social life. So as I begin my 2018 journey this is where I’ve decided to begin with thing I know I can improve upon but things I think are necessary for those who want to do the same.

Explore on your own

I know it sounds a little odd I mean not everyone wants to do things alone but by going exploring or to dinner alone gets you out of your comfort zone and to experience new things.

Become more self-aware

Look into what makes you the person you are ( what you like, how you act, what you do when nobody’s looking) and the little quirks ( how you eat, what music you play in the car, how you laugh or talk) that people like about you or maybe what they don’t like. By exploring these elements of your life you’ll learn what you need to complete you and what you truly deserve.

Rebuild Relationships

By rekindling old relationships with family and friends you help build your support system. Because throughout life these people are your rock and will always be there when you need them most so it’s important to spend a little extra time with those who mean the most to you.

Learn to feel

While this goes hand in hand with #2 it’s important to know your emotions and how to deal with them. Don’t let your feelings build up write about it, talk to someone, or just cry about it, trust me you’ll feel better afterwards.

Be Honest

Honesty is the key to everything. If your honest with yourself first it’s easy to be honest to everyone else. Yes, it’s terrifying being the one to make the first move or say how you really feel in a relationship all because we don’t know what they might say and that’s okay but, think about how you’ll feel after being honest with them and yourself.

Be weird!

It sounds ridiculous but stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something you normally would think was weird or not you, Do it. Laugh about it and make that memory. You never know you might actually like it.

Meet new people

Yes, it sounds terrifying to some people but by getting out there and meeting new people and building new friendships you get to hear about different experiences, different opinions, and maybe even find a potential partner along the way.

Make Mistakes

It’s okay to make mistakes because that’s how we learn as human beings. Do things differently and if you screw up or don’t like the way it goes than you have an experience to learn from. Most importantly don’t be afraid to admit that you made a mistake and learn from it.

So heres to 2018! I hope by reading this guide it helps you to improve your life in the new year acts as a catalyst for new beginnings along the way. I want all of you to know that I believe in you and I hope your 2018 journey is full of happiness and many new beginnings!
