As the leaves change color, the weather gets colder, and the smell of pumpkin spice floods your nostrils (even when you seemingly can’t identify where it is coming from). One of the best places to be is Boulder, Colorado. One of Boulder’s most enticing characteristics, besides the breathtaking scenery, of course, is its endless options for incredible food. As all CU students know, it can sometimes be overwhelming choosing where to eat because every restaurant is someone’s favorite! So, I’ve rounded up my top picks for the best places to enjoy warm, savory meals this fall.

Flower Child.

This chain restaurant proudly boasts the slogan “Healthy Food for a Happy World”. It’s one of my favorites for when I’m attempting a “health grind”, but I need something delicious to motivate me. I highly recommend trying the Harvest Bowl and the life-changing Vegan Mac & Cheese.

Boulder Dushanbe Tea House.

Not only is the interior of this teahouse an architectural masterpiece, but it offers some of the most flavorful teas I’ve ever had, perfect for fall. Their incredibly diverse menu offers plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you choose to dine-in, I guarantee you won’t know whether to focus on the delicious food or the hand-painted ceilings.

Sherpa’s Restaurant

Sherpa” is a hidden gem, especially for those of us who go crazy for chicken tikka masala (guilty as charged…). Sherpa describes itself as an “Escape to the Himalayas”, and that statement could not be more accurate. If it isn’t too cold, I recommend sitting on the patio and getting a photo-op under their adorable twinkling lights before stuffing yourself to the brim with naan.

Alpine Modern.

A short walk for anyone who lives on the Hill, Alpine Modern is perfect for your morning caffeine buzz or an afternoon study session. My typical order is a matcha latte and avocado toast. As a slight coffee snob, I can definitively say this is the best coffee I’ve had living on the Hill.

Boulder Farmers Market.

The farmer’s market is the perfect place to stroll on a Saturday morning this fall. You can peruse the different booths, get fresh produce and flowers, and admire the perfectly autumnal baskets of apples, pumpkins, and gourds. This quintessential fall activity runs until the third week of November!

These are just a few of the many heavenly food options Boulder has to offer. Even when it gets chilly, and midterms are weighing heavily on our minds, it is still important to enjoy this beautiful season while it lasts. What better way to savor it than with a savory autumnal treat!
