Decor doesn’t have to be over the top or break the bank and you might be able to find these materials laying around your home. Be sure to check out all of these amazing accounts that let me repost their projects!

Rainbow Heart – Tina Le

Tina Le (@tinadoodles on Instagram) is one of my favorite Youtubers, and she recently uploaded a video on DIY Valentine’s day decor that has three projects using items from the dollar store. One of my favorites is this heart wreath! All you need is a wire heart for the frame, 3mm macrame cording, yarn in the colors of your choice, and a little bit of patience! She starts by cutting a small piece and then uses a cow hitch knot to loop it around the outside of the heart! She repeats this until the entire heart is filled with the macrame cording and then does a second layer on top of it with the yarn. After the wreath is filled, she cuts the yarn and cording so it’s even, and the wreath is complete!

Pom-pom and Tassel Garland

This second DIY is from @bloombeautifullyco on Instagram and has been broken up into three steps. You will need yarn in the colors of your choice for the pom-poms and tassels and fabric and cotton balls for the hearts!

To make the tassels, cut a piece of cardboard to be 4.5” x 12” and wrap your yarn around it about 30-40 times. Be sure to wrap in the same area keeping the yarn tight. When you’re done, cut the bottom and remove it from the cardboard. Now, tie another piece of yarn around the middle then fold it in half . Finally, tie another piece of yarn about an inch down from where you folded it to make the top part of the tassel. Trim the ends and make as many as you want for your garland.

The pom-poms follow a similar process to the tassels! Wrap your yarn about 30-40 times around a piece of cardboard that’s 4” x 6”. Next, tie a piece of yarn around the middle to form a little ball. Remove it from the cardboard and cut the loops at the top and bottom. Give your pom-pom a haircut and repeat for as many as you want.

Finally, for the hearts, cut two pieces of fabric into a heart shape. Use a needle and thread or hot glue to close the heart, but leave a small gap and fill it with cotton balls before fully closing it! Repeat this to make as many hearts as you want.

Use a long piece of yarn and attach all of the tassels, pom-poms, and hearts to it! There’s no right or wrong way to do this, so just have fun with it!

Hot Cocoa Bar – Ashton Sedita

This hot cocoa bar from @ashtonsedita is so cute! All you need is to get your favorite hot cocoa toppings (sprinkles, marshmallows, cookies, chocolate, etc.) and put them into cute containers! She also has a jar for stirring spoons and a sign behind it that says hot cocoa bar! I recommend putting your cocoa into another jar and having mugs out on display!

All of these DIYs are very affordable and work with lots of different aesthetics. You don’t have to do the classic Valentine’s Day colors which is what I love about these projects! Happy DIYing!
