Chocolate Hearts with Strawberry Champagne Filling for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Valentine’s Day is coming up! Whether you’re single and ready for Galentine’s day or you’re going to go on a romantic date, no one is left out from the best part of the holiday- chocolate. And unless you don’t like chocolate (shame on you), I have an inkling that this may be your new favorite dessert.

Check out this recipe from Wilton!

Ingredients and Tools

Heart-shaped molds

A decorating brush

Piping bags

1 bag of chocolate candy melts

¾ cup of marshmallow fluff

¼ cup of strawberry preserves

1 tsp champagne flavor concentrate

Sprinkles

Instructions

1. Generously brush the insides of your mold with melted chocolate.

2. Put your molds in the freezer for around 10 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, take your marshmallow, strawberry preserves, and champagne flavoring into a bowl and whisk together until it looks like one color.

4. Put your filling in your piping bag.

5. Take your mold out of the freezer, and insert your filling into the candies. Leave a little room on top.

6. Add more melted chocolate on top of the filling.

7. Even it out using tapping and leveling your mold.

8. Pop it back in the freezer for 20 minutes.

9. Put the remaining melted chocolate candy into a piping bag.

10. Take your chocolates out of the freezer and loosen them so you can take them out of the mold.

11. Drizzle melted chocolate on top.

12. Top them off with sprinkles.

You’ll wow your friends or significant other!
