If you’re on Twitter or Instagram (or have ears), it’s almost impossible to not have heard about all of the news with Ariana Grande. She has had an insane year, whether you like her music or not. Personally, I was not a fan until recently.

She just seemed like another popstar to me, but under all this scrutiny, I think as young women we are lucky to have such a gracious role model upon us. She went through a massive break-up with Mac Miller, and as we all probably know, he overdosed a couple of months after. Then, she got engaged, which was very short-lived. She went through another break-up, while releasing a chart-topping album.

Her album ‘Sweetener’ reached over 1 billion streams on Spotify, her third and fastest album to reach this achievement. Also, her single ‘thank u, next’ reached the global Spotify record for a female artist in history. AND, she was awarded Billboard’s 2018 Woman of the Year, and, in her post about it, she urged her followers to vote.

She is an incredibly successful woman at just 25 years old, ruling the music industry. Music aside, it is undeniable that she is handling being under a microscope well. I wish her all the best, and until then let’s all continue to give her our support. Watch her shut down misogyny on Twitter.

When Piers Morgan bashed Little Mix for doing a nude shoot, she defended them and women everywhere. She handled the situation with poise while still standing up for what she believes in. Women can do anything.

When a troll harassed her for milking Mac Miller’s death, she shut it down with compassion, not anger.

We need more celebrities like this, being themselves and showing kindness to the world.

thank u, next!!!

Also thank you to Ariana Grande’s twitter, and you for reading :)
