This was the Only Thing that Helped Acne

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CSU chapter.

I am going to be honest with you all, I never used to wash my face or put moisturizer on or anything. But all of that changed my senior year when it caught up to me, my face was horrible. Literally there were breakouts every week and cystic acne all over my face. I had tried everything: washing my face (lol), special face washes, acne “fighting” face masks, birth control, etc. I finally decided to dish out some money on actual prescription face products. I came across Curology, a new company where you could have full access to a dermatologist and get a prescription grade serum totally online.

I was skeptical, but this honestly felt like my last hope. I got through about 2 months of using my Curology every night and I finally started to see a difference. I had stopped using the acne face washes and face masks and switched to a simpler routine. I use E.L.F. face wash, Up & Up toner, and Aveeno Moisturizer (with spf). After about 6 months my face was totally clear with only about one or two pimples popping up every two weeks. I was so surprised that it worked. I should mention that each bottle of Curology is specially formulated for your skin type and your skin concerns.

If you are interested in using Curology here is a little overview of the process. First you sign up by giving your name and other info (like other websites) and you take a quiz about your skin type, areas of concern, skin concerns, and medical history. The medical history is just concerned with things that could affect your treatment: history of prescription topicals, oral medications, allergies, etc. After the quiz it allows you to sign up for your free trial, which is still $4.95 for shipping. You will automatically get billed the next month for your next bottle so make sure to cancel before then. You have the ability to choose which bottle you would like after your free trial there are 2 options, monthly or every 2 months. For the monthly bottle you will get a new bottle and be billed $24.90 each month. For every 2 months you will get a 2-month bottle and be charged $39.90 every 2 months (which comes out to $19.90 each month). Before you get your bottle, you will upload pictures of your area of concerns that your personal dermatologist can evaluate. Throughout your time using Curology you can skip a month, talk to your dermatologist anytime, or even temporarily cancel your account if you don’t want to fully cancel.

Even though this may seem like a lot of money for a broke college student, if you struggle with acne you may want to look into getting Curology. I definitely think it is worth it.
