In recent years, the line between books and cinema has blurred more than ever. As more books are being adapted for the big screen, bestselling stories continue to dominate theaters and streaming platforms.

Four of the most highly anticipated adaptations that are coming to the big screen are looking promising.

People We Meet On Vacation

Emily Henry’s beloved novel People We Meet On Vacation is finally heading to the screen, bringing fans a deeper look into the novel of friendship and love.

The film follows Poppy and Alex, opposites who are best friends, as they vacation together every summer until a falling out leaves them estranged from each other. Two years later, they reunited for one last trip, giving them a chance to rediscover what they truly mean to each other.

The adaptation is set to premiere on Netflix on January 9, 2026. The film will feature Emily Bader and Tom Blyth.

The Love Hypothesis

Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling book, The Love Hypothesis, is being adapted into a rom-com feature film, set for release in 2026.

The film centers on Olive Smith, a third-year Ph.D. student in biology at Stanford University. When Olive needs to pretend that she is seeing someone, she kisses the first man she sees, which happens to be Adam Carlsen, a professor who’s known for being grumpy. Olive and Adam agree to pretend to be in a relationship for mutual benefits.

Originally written as a Star Wars fanfic, featuring Rey Skywalker and Kylo Ren. It has now transformed into a hit in the romance genre.

Both starring and acting as executive producer, Lili Reinhart, will feature in the film along with Tom Bateman.

As of August 2025, Amazon has not yet announced a release date for the movie. However, thanks to numerous updates and behind-the-scenes efforts from the starring cast, the film is still in production.

Verity

After the box-office success of Colleen Hoover’s first movie adaptation, It Ends With Us, it was only a matter of time before another novel came to life on the screen. Based on the bestselling novel, Verity, it has officially wrapped production, and the wait begins.

The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, who agrees to be a ghostwriter for best-selling thriller author Verity Crawford, who is disabled after a mysterious accident, to complete her remaining books. The assignment slowly takes a dark turn when she discovers a secret of chilling details about the family’s deadly past. As Lowen makes her way into life with Verity’s husband, Jeremy, and her young son.

Playing Verity Crawford, Anne Hathaway will star in the film alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.

The film is scheduled for release on May 15, 2026.

Reminders of Him

Another Colleen Hoover bestselling novel, Reminders of Him, is being adapted for the screen as the third movie based on Hoover’s books, following Regretting You, which was released on October 24, 2025.

The movie follows Kenna Rowan, a young mother released from prison after a tragic accident, as she attempts to reconnect with her young daughter. She faces hardship in her hometown, as people refuse to let her return, except for a bar owner, Ledger Ward, who also has ties to her child. As they grow closer, Kenna must confront her past mistakes to build a hopeful future for herself and her child.

The movie stars Maika Monroe as Kenna Rowan, as well as Tyriq Withers and Rudy Pankow.

The official trailer has been released on social media, and the movie is scheduled for release on March 13, 2026.

With each of these adaptations, the line between books and cinema continues to grow stronger. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or a movie lover looking for a good film, these upcoming films are definitely something to look forward to.
