Cornell has 16 libraries on it’s campus, but Mann Library is the best by far! Here’s why:
1. It‘s home to Manndible Cafe, which has the best smoothies, banana bread, coffee, and burritos on campus. Manndible is located in the lobby of the library, so you can take study breaks without having to go outside. It’s also open on weekends, unlike most on-campus dining spots.
2. Each floor of Mann has its own unique environment that suits any kind of studying. If you like working in a nice open area, stay on the first floor. If you feel like a social environment, grab a couch and table on second, and if you want complete silence, head to the third floor.
3. The fourth floor of Mann is home to the Communications department, which was just recently updated. If you want to study or just hang out in a modern lounge environment, the Communications lounge is a perfect spot.
4. One of the best part of Mann library are the tables that surround you when you enter the lobby. The Mann tables are a great way of finding out about cool organizations on campus or buying some donuts from fundraising initiatives.
5. For lazy people who dread climbing stairs or for those with disabilities or a broken leg, Mann has super efficient elevators that make it so much easier go up and down.
6. Though all libraries at Cornell have desktop computers available to students, Mann has an excessive amount. So if you need one, no need to worry as there are plenty.
7. Another great thing about Mann is that all the help desks are consolidated on the first floor. The layout makes it so much easier to get help whether you need help with citations, finding a book, or making sense out of your statistical output.
8. Though these computers pods are sometimes hard to get, they are highly coveted as they are great for group projects. The pods allow you to connect your laptop to the big screen, which is great for communal studying.
