Slope Day Accessories You Should Consider

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

Aside from Halloweekend, Slope Day is the only other day of the year you can dress up in crazy outfits. So with this in mind, consider adding some flair to your Slope Day outfit with these fun (and maybe practical) accessories:

1. Large mirrored sunglasses

If the sun decides to make an appearance on Slope Day, you’ll be more than prepared. Even if it’s not sunny (knock on wood), you can wear your sunglasses on top of your head. The mirrored effect also looks great in pictures. Since Slope Day is hectic, I would recommend purchasing a cheaper pair, just in case you lose yours.

2. Bucket hat

Bucket hats are super quirky and scream summer. Not only do they protect your face from the sun, but they also they come in a variety of patterns.

3. Fanny pack

All Cornellians must have a fanny pack to house all their Slope Day essentials, including phones, sunscreen, and other miscellaneous items you may need. And since your fanny pack is strapped to your waist, it’s difficult to lose! Fanny packs range from subtle, classy ones, to flamboyantly stylish ones.

4. Hipster headband/jewellery

Are you salty because you missed Coachella because of prelims? If you answered yes, make the most out of Slope Day by turning it into your very own music festival! A boho headband or chain will make you look like a goddess!

5. Flash tattoos

Do you miss your younger years when you could walk around with a large princess tattoo on your face? Flash “tats” are the young adult version of kid tattoos. These metallic tattoos are super easy to apply, but be warned that they may take a bit of scrubbing to remove.

6. Overalls

Overalls are a fun way to spice up your wardrobe. They come in all styles, from cropped to long, distressed to acid washed, and white to navy. You can wear overalls over a fun t-shirt or cute bralette.

7. Artsy alien makeup

Since Slope Day is a time to go all-out, consider some fun makeup styles, like dot patterns, or bedazzle your face with glitter and  small jewels!
