The Best Christmas Songs to Add to Your Holiday Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

Christmas is in less than a month, but I’ve already started spinning my holiday playlist thanks to all the snow we’ve gotten in Ithaca! Here are 10 of my favorites, in no particular order, that will get you hype for the best time of the year.

1. Cold December Night, Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé’s Christmas album features this sweet original track.

2. Christmas Is Coming, Vince Guaraldi Trio

I can’t help but smile whenever I hear the opening riff of this classic song.

3. Extraordinary Merry Christmas, Glee Cast

Say what you want about Glee, but they did have some great original songs. This one hits all the right notes – cheerful, catchy, and Christmas-y!

4. Underneath the Tree, Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson’s powerful voice and a chorus that will be stuck in your head all month? Sign me up!

5. Winter Wonderland, The Sweeplings

This duo offers a delicate, folksy take on this Christmas classic.

6. Sleigh Ride, fun.

This modern cover of Sleigh Ride sure is a whole lot of fun!

7. The Christmas Waltz, She & Him

The perfect song for when you’re inside, drinking hot chocolate under Christmas lights and watching the snow fall outside your window.

8. Secret Santa, Gwen Stefani

Straight from Gwen Stefani’s new Christmas album, all you need is this song, your crush and some mistletoe!

9. Santa Tell Me, Ariana Grande

I can guarantee you that this song will be stuck in your head way past Christmas. Trust me, it happened to me last year!

10. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, *NSYNC

The holiday season just wouldn’t be complete without this feel-good throwback!
