6 Reasons The Holiday Season Is The Best

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

The holiday season is always so magical. From Christmas to Hanukkah, there are so many reasons to celebrate! The following are some of my favorite parts of the season.

1. The drinks

Most coffee shops have special drinks during the holidays. My personal favorites are the Peppermint Mocha Latte and the Caramel Brûlée Latte from Starbucks. If you want something without caffeine, peppermint hot chocolate is amazing too. Not only are the drinks festive, but the cups are nicely decorated as well!

2. Decorations

The decorations are beautiful. From houses to the mall, everything is so festive! There are lights and garnishes everywhere, and Santa comes to the mall and brings so much cheer. If you visit New York City, the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue are incredible. Rockefeller Plaza is right across from it, and you can really feel the magic everywhere!

3. Music

When else will you hear such fun, wholesome songs that everyone can sing along to? Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” is a true classic. Even on the subway people are singing carols.

4. Gifts

Whether you’re giving them or receiving them, gift giving is so much fun! Secret Santa is a great way to get together with your friends and have a great time without having to spend too much money.

5. Family and friends

The holidays are the best time to spend with your friends and family. Everyone comes together to celebrate. It’s the perfect time to make traditions and catch up!

6. Holiday TV specials

From holiday movies to TV shows, holiday specials are the best! I love watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The Year Without a Santa Claus. Most TV shows have holiday specials too! The Friends holiday episode with the Holiday Armadillo is a true classic.

The holiday season is truly the most wonderful time of the year!
