Writer Profile: Hanna Bobrowicz

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Meet our next writer, Hanna! A sophomore at Conn who loves all things British. Learn about her plans to go abroad, the Peace and Conflict Pathway she’s doing, and some other quirky facts about her.

Majors: I plan on Majoring in History (American Social movements) and minoring in theater. I also plan on completing the Peace and Conflict Pathway!

Hometown: Menlo Park, California.

Extracurricular Activities: Her Campus, CC Dems, PR Committee on the Women’s Empowerment Initiative, and part of the tour guide team!

Do you have a favorite spot on campus? I absolutely love going to the arboretum! It is the perfect place to relax.

Favorite meal you miss from home? Raman! But not the microwavable kind, the authentic bowl as big as your head ramen.

Favorite play or musical: Dogfight! It is an amazing show, I love everything about it. The music, the story and the set. Still waiting for Wig and Candle to start a production of it.

Favorite Hobby: Wandering. My favorite thing to do is just walk through cities, take pictures and pop in and out of cafes and book shops. I also love to hike, and walk along the beach. So in short, wandering.

Favorite Quote: “To tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world” Bobby Kennedy said in a speech after the assassination of MLK, and I find it so moving and relevant.

Favorite book: Uhhhh Harry Potter of course!

Favorite TV show: Call the Midwife, The Crown. Basically give me a period drama, and I am a happy lady.

Favorite movie: Almost Famous or Across the Universe. Hands down, the two best movies ever!

What Pathway are you doing? I am doing the Peace and Conflict Pathway with the hope to study past conflicts of the 20th century, and figure out how to create long-lasting peace today.

What abroad programs are you looking at? It’s my dream to live somewhere in the United Kingdom! Right now I am thinking University of Edinburgh or St. Andrews. I am thinking of going in the Spring with the hope that I can extend my stay into the summer!

Ana is a sophomore at Connecticut College. A double Theater and English major and Secondary Education Certification Scholar.
