This summer has had so many great new music releases so far, so I wanted to go and give everyone a glimpse of what I’ve been enjoying lately. During summer, I love exploring my different tastes a little bit more, and also rediscovering old songs I used to love! Hope you enjoy and get some new recs!
- Free Your Mind– Prospa
The Leeds duo just released their debut album June 8, and I have to say it’s one of my top contenders for album of the summer. The title track “Free Your Mind” with fellow UK producer Cloonee is my personal song of the summer. Other favs include “The Situation”, “Body Heat”, and “Dreams”, a euphoric track that feels like the definition of summer.
- “On 2nite” Silva Bumpa
On May 22, the UK producer released his version of Montell Jordan’s “Get it on Tonight.” Driven by a strong, bouncy bassline that is at the core of most of Bumpa’s songs, the track is a groovy one, with plenty of “that girl” energy in it.
- “Man I Need” Olivia Dean
I’ve loved the entirety of Dean’s The Art of Loving, but “Man I Need” has to be my favorite. Dean has such a unique voice and her songs are so uplifting and hopeful. No surprise why she’s been on my rotation all summer!
- “Ease My Mind” Chris Lake, Abel Balder
Even though it was released last summer, Chris Lake’s debut album Chemistry continues to be one of the most on-repeat for me. “Ease My Mind” is a soulful, feel-good tune that is perfect for summer nights cruising in the car with the windows down, or enjoying a gathering with friends on the porch.
- “Peace of Mind” Disco Lines, Ship Wrek, Daya
In May of this past year, Daya was selected as Conn’s Floralia 2026 headliner, by far the best Floralia we have had in my personal opinion. While everyone was excited for her most popular songs from a decade ago, her performance reminded me of the forgotten ones of hers I happened to rediscover that night and throughout the summer, including this one with Disco Lines and Ship Wrek, two artists who have also had great success with 2025’s “I Don’t Trust a Soul.” This is an emotional track that feels nostalgic in all the best ways.
- M-High, “What’s Going On”
Released on Up the Stuss July 24th, this deep house influenced track is the perfect vibe for late summer nights.
- JME, Locky, Luke Dean, “Check One, Check Two”
Locky and Luke Dean are two producers who have both been absolutely carrying the minimal house scene over the past two years (along with Luke’s cousin Max Dean) with collaborations on tracks such as “Curveball” and “Can’t Decide.” Now they’re back for a collaboration with British rapper JME on “Check One, Check Two”, a garage influenced song that is sure to get you hyped for anything the upcoming semester may bring your way!
