When asked about a celebrity crush, people are generally quick to name actors and singers considered superstars… A-listers, if you will. Today, however, we’re looking beyond the Margot Robbies and Chris Evans’. Here are our unconventional celebrity crushes:

Catherine Gwinnett ‘24

Two words, one man: Adrien Brody. Can I tell you that I’ve seen any of his movies? No. Can I tell you that I know the first thing about him? No. Do I follow him on Instagram and like every single one of his pictures? Yes I do.

Lara Beckius ‘24

For this one, we’re throwing it back to my first celebrity crush: Thomas Brodie-Sangster. This man SHOULD be a mainstream celebrity crush, and I’m always surprised when people give me blank stares when I bring him up. I was first introduced to Mr. Brodie-Sangster when he was cast as Newt in The Maze Runner movie franchise… a character that had already taken hold of my middle school brain. Since then, he has notably starred in The Queen’s Gambit and The Artful Dodger on Hulu. Fun fact: he was also the voice of Ferb on the hit Disney Channel show Phineas and Ferb. What can’t Thomas Brodie-Sangster do?

Caroline Snyder ‘26

This probably isn’t the most unconventional, but I consider it so, given that I did not grow up on Disney Channel. Mine is the absolute queen herself: Bridgit Mendler. I have not seen Good Luck, Charlie; Lemonade Mouth; or Wizards of Waverly Place, so she was honestly not on my radar until I saw an Instagram post about the absolutely insane amount of things she has done. Disney stardom aside, girl has three different degrees from prestigious universities, iconic songs, and is a CEO? Insane. Absolutely insane.
