Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) Counting Crows
I have been waiting for new Counting Crows music anxiously since I saw them live two summers ago with Augustana. I am a huge fan of their old music and was not disappointed by their latest album. Besides the awesome title, this album has a ton to offer. With 17 brand new songs, the Counting Crows bring their classic style of music back with “Untitled (Love Song) and their cover of Pure Prairie League’s “Amie”. There aren’t many surprises in the album, but this pleases me because I’m so fond of their old songs. “Four White Stallions” is one of my favorite tracks because it is slower but filled with emotion. The Counting Crows have been together since I was born (literally, formed in 1991) and this is their ninth album.

Moving Up Living Down Eric Hutchinson
Eric Hutchinson teased his fans when “Watching You Watch Him” was featured on Grey’s Anatomy several months ago. A preview of the song was available on YouTube but the song in its entirety was nowhere to be found: until now. Hutchinson’s newest album is filled with upbeat music, perfect for spring weather. “In The First Place” and “I’m Not Cool” are catchy and lively tracks that would be great on a spring mixed tape, whereas “Breakdown More” is a sentimental love-oriented song. “A regular guy in an insane world,” Hutchinson should be invited to all of your springtime festivities.

Landline Greg Laswell
After his wife, Ingrid Michaelson, released her album Human Again in January, Greg Laswell has been tweeting about the release of his album Landline. The album has collaborations with Michaelson, Sia (featured in “Wild Ones” by Flo Rida), Elizabeth Ziman, and Sara Bareilles. Two weeks before the release of the album, Laswell released the homemade music video for “Back To You” and I knew the album would be brilliant.Â
