HC Team’s Thanksgiving Adventures

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Thanksgiving break has come and gone, and finals are upon us! But before we dive into our work, we wanted to take some time to share what the HC-Conn Coll Team got up to over Thanksgiving break. Enjoy!

Ann

I spent most of my Thanksgiving break writing, deleting, and re-writing essays for the Critical Language Scholarship application. But I did spend the break at my cousins’ cabin in Vermont, so at least I had a change of scenery! It was SUPER cold there, but I enjoyed looking at the snowy landscape from my armchair by the fireplace… My other highlight was doing yoga with my entire family – including my 85-year-old grandma!

For Thanksgiving, I went home to Massachusetts with one of my closest friends from Conn who was unable to go back to Chicago. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, not only because of the amazing food but also because my birthday falls during the break every year. I did some homework, enjoyed a Boston College hockey game, and celebrated turning 20!

I really tried to finish most of my work before Thanksgiving so I could really relax before the onslaught of finals, but alas twas’ not possible. I spent a few days in Larchmont, New York visiting my grandma and eating my favorite local food. Together, my grandma, my mom, and I traveled to Brooklyn to my aunt and uncle’s townhouse where Thanksgiving is usually held. We ate delicious food, incredible pies, and cuddled with my aunt and uncle’s two cats. When I returned home from NY, I spent time working on my art project, buying random items I needed for school, and releasing (a minute amount) of stress by shopping. Even though I was not able to relax as much as I would have liked, I was able to spend time with my family, catch up on TV shows with mom, watch The Last Waltz with my dad, take showers with flip-flops, and eat splendid food (which of course I photographed).
