Four trends from NYFW Week Fall/Winter 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Throughout the past week, various venues across New York City were filled with the fashion world’s most famous models and designers for New York Fashion Week’s annual showcase of designer’s upcoming Fall and Winter collections. Among the designers at this year’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway shows included familiar brands such as Jcrew, Kate Spade,Tommy Hilfiger, and Coach.

Here are some trends seen throughout some of the runway shows and ways you can translate these trends to your outfits now!

Flare pants (cropped and uncropped)

They’re back! Flare pants have proven to be very versatile.  You can style them up for a job interview with some heals or wear them on a night out with friends!

Tommy Hilfiger 2016 Fall/Winter Collection NYFW

Love this trend? Flair pants are common at almost every department and clothing store today! Here’s a pair of adorb ones from Forever21! They may not be as flaired as the ones on the runway but they are equally as cute!

Floral prints

Whatever season it is, Floral prints always seem to be in.

                                                                                                      Gloves from Tanya Taylor’s F/W 2016 Collection

More floweresque designs were incorporated throughout Diane von Furstenberg’s Fall 2016 ready-to-wear line.

Floral Print and Lace Top from Forever21

Pairing of yellow and pink:

Marissa Webb and Ulla Johnson were able to pull of this color pairing.

Green Cargo jackets

The army or cargo jacket like floral patterns also seems to be in style. Cargo jackets both thin and heavy duty versions are perfect for when it is just chilly outside and or of course when the whether is below freezing. As the weather starts to change, you can go a little lighter and get a thinner version of your beloved green winter cargo!

                                                                                                                                  Kate Spade F/W 2016 Collection

Its still not too late to invest in both a heavy and thin version of the green cargo jacket!
