Connecticut College Relay For Life Presents: Carnival for a Cure!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

This year, Connecticut College Relay For Life is putting on an entirely new event: a carnival! On Friday, April 6, on Tempel Green, Relay For Life will host the first ever Carnival for a Cure. This event will feature a variety of classic carnival games run by the Relay For Life committee as well as some fellow Camel volunteers, a dunk tank, an inflatable obstacle course, an array of different food trucks (including a comfort food truck, Captain Scott’s, Tony’s Donuts, and a cannolli truck), and finally the famous cake walk (don’t know what that is? Show up and find out!). The event is from 4-10 and is sure to be a lot of fun! Most importantly, however, is that all of the proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society is an organization determined to help rid the world of cancer. The organization helps to fund cancer treatment research, provide information for people to prevent certain cancers, and provides support for patients and families who are victim to this horrible disease. Relay For Life is an event that happens all across the country as a means for people to rally together to help fight against cancer. While this year’s Connecticut College Relay event will not include the traditional track walking segment, it will still have a luminaria ceremony to honor those with cancer, those who have beaten cancer, and those who have lost their battle with cancer.

Carnival for a Cure is going to be a great event for a great cause, and definitely should not be missed!
